About Us

Kim Stuckens

Owner & Trainer

Kim helping a student adjust her stirrup length

Founder and owner of Magnolia Ridge, Kim runs a successful “A” circuit training and showing business which has been in operation for the last 20 years. The commitment to riding excellence is shown in the results team Magnolia Ridge has achieved.

Kim has developed many accomplished horsemen and women who have had success not only in the show ring, but have gone on to become veterinarians, Grand Prix competitors, and breeding farm managers. Her devotion and commitment to the students, the horses and the sport is translated through her teaching and training methods. Kim truly enjoys teaching horseback riding lessons to people of all ages and backgrounds. Growing up, Kim created many opportunities for herself through hard work and dedication to the sport and her horses. Through out her entire adolescence Kim was able to work with many accomplished equestrians who helped improve her competitive riding and horsemanship skills.

Childress Rogers (Columbus, OH) and Roger Wilham (Cincinnati, OH) were both influential instructors early on in Kim’s career. Later on she had the privilege of working with a variety of professionals such as Alana Featherstone (Canada) and the late Victor Hugo-Vidal (San Fransisco, CA). Through her many different experiences Kim finds that strong basics are what breed success, and her program is shaped around that idea.

Jacque Stuckens

Jacque jumping Helios

With an emphasis on Equitation, Jacque has been able to create successful horses and riders in all arenas. Under the instruction of many talented professionals such as Peter Leone, Jim Hagman, Shelley Campf and John Turner she has been able to learn many different riding styles and techniques that she incorporates into her training.

Since moving to the Seattle area 20 years ago she has continued to instill these values in her students. An equestrian from day one, Jacque has always known she would end up joining the team at Magnolia Ridge. Jacque has been riding and showing in the Northwest since the age of 3. From her first leadline class at the Evergreen Classic in 1994, to competing in nationally recognized finals in Pennsylvania, Virginia, New York and beyond, Jacque has many valuable experiences to bring home to her students.

The USHJA Emerging Athlete’s Program, the ASPCA Maclay National Finals, IHSA National Finals, countless Regional Medal/Equitation Finals, and the East Coast National Pony Hunter and Equitation Finals are all prestigious events that Jacque has has competed in. Her natural ability and hunger for competition are what allow Jacque continued success throughout her riding career.
